Girls Student Athlete: Starlee Buttars
Starlee Buttars is a 4-year member of the high school drill team. She is currently one of my officers and has been an officer for two years. I can ask her to do something and she jumps right in and does it. Starlee participated at all-state and did very well. Besides being on drill, Starlee is a great student. She has maintained high grades while being on drill team. She has taken and is taking college classes. Starlee plans to attend University of Utah majoring in fertility nursing. She is one who gives many acts, including the acts of kindness the drill team did at Christmas time. She planned for her group to visit Coach Hannah and his family and take him some treats. Starlee has wo younger sisters she adores and would do anything for. I am glad I have been able to coach Starlee for four years and look forward to seeing what other things she will accomplish in the future.
Coach Marcie Owen
One of the best and most rewarding aspects of my job as a teacher and athletic director is when I get to work with someone like Starlee. She is one of those students you are a better person because you know and became friends with. Starlee showers everyone she comes in contact with love, a smile and a positive attitude. I have been very impressed that she has worked so hard to be the best student, best dancer and, most importantly, the best person she can! She has taken a challenging load at school in order to prepare herself for a future in nursing and has maintained a 3.5 gpa. You cannot be around Starlee without feeling happy and feeling good about yourself. I really look forward to seeing her be a great influence on many people and becoming a great success. I am happy to see good things happen to good people like Starlee.
