Game Recap

Bear River took Friday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 10-9 walk-off victory over Ridgeline. The game was tied at nine with the Bears batting in the bottom of the eighth when there was an error, scoring one run.
Despite falling down by four runs in the fifth inning, Ridgeline tried to fight back. Ridgeline scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Parker Bernhardt and a single by Landon Jenson.
Bear River took an early lead in the first inning. With zero outs in the first inning Jarett Theurer drove in two runs when he doubled.
After Ridgeline scored two runs in the top of the fifth, Bear River answered with two of their own. Ridgeline scored when Bernhardt singled off of Carson Day, driving in one run and there was an error, scoring one run. The Bears then answered when Parker Theurer singled off of Bernhardt, driving in two runs.
Ridgeline knotted the game up at nine in the top of the sixth inning. Ridgeline scored one run when Jenson singled with zero outs in the sixth inning.
Ridgeline scored four runs in the sixth inning. Ridgeline’s big inning was driven by a single by Bernhardt and a single by Jenson.
Tyler Hinkle earned the win for Bear River. He tossed three innings, surrendering one run, two hits, striking out two, and walking zero. Jeron Hansen took the loss for Ridgeline. He went two and two-thirds innings, giving up one run, two hits, striking out two, and walking one.
Bernhardt started the game for Ridgeline. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs, 11 hits, and striking out two. Parker Coombs started the game for Bear River. He tossed two innings, allowing three runs, three hits, striking out one, and walking one.
Bear River had 13 hits in the game. Wyatt Sorensen, Theurer, Wyatt Roholt, and Kaygen Canfield each collected multiple hits for the Bears. Canfield led Bear River with three runs batted in. He went 2-for-5 on the day.
Ridgeline collected nine hits. Bernhardt, Kaden Bowler, and Jenson each collected multiple hits for Ridgeline.
