Boys Student Athlete of the Month: Jake Dahle
It is an honor to make a few comments regarding Jake Dahle and his nomination as Athlete of the Month.
Jake has demonstrated throughout his four years in our basketball program, and specifically this season, a strong aptitude for leadership and an unquenchable competitive spirit that has benefited not only him but all of those around him. Jake’s play on the court, and his attitude and example off of it, has allowed him to flourish as a senior captain and lead his peers and our program in a positive and competitive direction.
Athletically Jake is doing a fantastic job this season. He leads the team in scoring with a 17 ppg average while also leading the team in rebounds; 6 rpg and steals; 2 spg. But most importantly Jake is an exemplary leader through his hard work and competitive but personable attitude and personality. Jake doesn’t shirk in doing the hard things and doing them to the best of his ability. In addition he treats all of his teammates with respect and considers each one a friend.
Academically Jake excels in the classroom. He maintains a 3.975 GPA while taking a long list of difficult courses including college level English, Math, Psychology and Politics. He has not shied away from challenging himself with a rigorous schedule of courses such as Chemistry and Physics as well as business and foreign language. Certainly Jake has learned to prioritize his time to meet the needs of his busy schedule. Jake has shown that he values his education and has made the necessary sacrifices in his life to succeed in both the classroom and the athletic arena.
It is a privilege to coach such a fine young man with the character and work ethic of Jake Dahle. He is a fine example to me and to all of his teammates and peers. Congratulations Jake on being selected “Athlete of the Month”. You are very deserving!

Head Boys Basketball Coach
Bear River High School
I remember the first time I met Jake. He was a sophomore in my health class and two things really stuck out to me early on. First was how he always had a smile on his face which brightened my day! Second was how respectful he was and willing to help me out when needed. Since then for 3 years now he has yet to walk by me without a smile and without saying, “Hello Coach!” I have observed this same respect as I have observed him interact with his baseball and basketball coaches.
Jake has had a lot of success both in his basketball and baseball career yet he has remained humble and polite, always crediting his teammates and coaches for his success. It has been fun to watch such a fierce competitor on the field/floor be such a gentleman off. Jake is already being looked at in baseball both collegiately and professionally and I am confident he will represent our school and community with dignity and class. I want to personally congratulate Jake on this great honor and also wish him the very best in his future!
