Bear River Fights Back In Loss To Pocatello
Despite an 8-run deficit in the fourth inning, Bear River almost came all the way back, eventually falling 9-7 to Pocatello on Saturday. Bear River scored six runs in the failed comeback on a single by Parker Theurer in the fourth, a fielder’s choice by Gavin Fronk in the fourth, a error in the fourth, a single by Kaygen Canfield in the fourth, a wild pitch in the sixth, and a error in the seventh.
Bear River couldn’t keep up with Pocatello early in the game. Pocatello scored on a double by Quinton Standley in the first inning, a walk by Hunter Roubidoux in the second inning, a walk by Standley in the second inning, a single by Dawson Keller in the second inning, and a triple by Connor Breding in the second inning.
Pocatello captured the lead in the first inning. Standley drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.

Roubidoux earned the win for Pocatello. He went four innings, surrendering five runs, nine hits, striking out one, and walking one. Will Schumber recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Pocatello. Jake Dahle took the loss for Bear River. He pitched two innings, surrendering seven runs, six hits, and striking out two.
Bear River collected 11 hits. Marshall Pond, Fronk, and Canfield each collected multiple hits for Bear River. Canfield, Wyatt Roholt, Theurer, Dahle, and Fronk each drove in one run to lead Bear River Bears ’17 Varsity.
Pocatello had eight hits in the game. Standley and Keller each collected multiple hits for Pocatello.
