Game Recap

An early lead helped Bear River Bears defeat Ben Lomond 16-2 on Monday. Bear River scored on a double by Jarett Theurer and a single by Jake Dahle in the first inning.
The Bears captured the lead in the first inning. Jarett Theurer drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.
Bear River Bears scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Bear River scored on a walk by Parker Theurer, a single by Gavin Fronk, a double by Theurer, a single by Jake Dahle, a double by Kaygen Canfield, and a single by Theurer.
Parker Coombs earned the win for Bear River Bears. He threw five innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and striking out nine. Kenyon Harris took the loss for Ben Lomond. He pitched four innings, allowing eight runs, nine hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Bear River Bears collected 16 hits. Theurer, Tyke Nessen, Fronk, Dahle, Wyatt Roholt, and Canfield each collected multiple hits for Bear River Bears. Theurer and Theurer each drove in three runs to lead Bear River Bears. Bear River Bears didn’t commit a single error in the field. Theurer had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
Harris went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ben Lomond in hits.

Game Recap

Bear River defeated Stansbury 9-2 on Saturday thanks in part to Tyke Nessen, who drove in five runners. Nessen drove in runs on a double in the second, a single in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.
Stansbury took an early lead in the first inning. Parker Buys singled on a 1-0 count in the first inning, scoring two runs.
In the bottom of the second inning, Bear River tied things up at two. Bear River scored one run when Tyke Nessen doubled with two outs in the second inning.
Bear River took the lead for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Justin Matthews uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run.
Bear River scored four runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single , a passed ball , and a double by Nessen.
Marshall Pond earned the win for Bear River. He pitched six innings, surrendering two runs, five hits, striking out six, and walking zero. Matthews took the loss for Stansbury. He threw four innings, allowing five runs, seven hits, striking out three, and walking zero.
Bear River had nine hits in the game. Nessen, Jake Dahle, and Wyatt Sorensen each collected multiple hits for Bear River Bears ’17 Varsity.
Stansbury collected five hits. Hunter Myers and Buys each collected multiple hits for Stansbury.

Bear River Fights Back In Loss To Pocatello

Despite an 8-run deficit in the fourth inning, Bear River almost came all the way back, eventually falling 9-7 to Pocatello on Saturday. Bear River scored six runs in the failed comeback on a single by Parker Theurer in the fourth, a fielder’s choice by Gavin Fronk in the fourth, a error in the fourth, a single by Kaygen Canfield in the fourth, a wild pitch in the sixth, and a error in the seventh.
Bear River couldn’t keep up with Pocatello early in the game. Pocatello scored on a double by Quinton Standley in the first inning, a walk by Hunter Roubidoux in the second inning, a walk by Standley in the second inning, a single by Dawson Keller in the second inning, and a triple by Connor Breding in the second inning.
Pocatello captured the lead in the first inning. Standley drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.
Bear River scored four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Parker Theurer, a fielder’s choice by Gavin Fronk, a error, and a single by Kaygen Canfield.
Pocatello scored six runs in the second inning. The big inning for Pocatello came thanks to a walk by Roubidoux, a walk by Standley, a single by Keller, and a triple by Breding.
Roubidoux earned the win for Pocatello. He went four innings, surrendering five runs, nine hits, striking out one, and walking one. Will Schumber recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Pocatello. Jake Dahle took the loss for Bear River. He pitched two innings, surrendering seven runs, six hits, and striking out two.
Bear River collected 11 hits. Marshall Pond, Fronk, and Canfield each collected multiple hits for Bear River. Canfield, Wyatt Roholt, Theurer, Dahle, and Fronk each drove in one run to lead Bear River Bears ’17 Varsity.
Pocatello had eight hits in the game. Standley and Keller each collected multiple hits for Pocatello.

Bear River watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-0 loss to Grantsville on Thursday. Grantsville scored on a walk by Brayden Peterson, a single by Jake Paxton, a fielder’s choice by Parker Thomas, a single by Trevor Colson, a single by Kaiser Allen, and a double by Riley Smith in the first inning.
Grantsville took an early lead in the first inning. Brayden Peterson drove in a run when he walked with the bases loaded.
One bright spot for Bear River was a double by Jake Dahle in the first inning.
Brady Arbon earned the win for Grantsville. He threw five innings, surrendering zero runs, four hits, and striking out two. Levi Porritt took the loss for Bear River. He tossed one-third of an inning, allowing seven runs, and four hits.
Kaygen Canfield, Parker Theurer, Dahle, and Gavin Fronk each collected one hit to lead Bear River. Bear River was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Wyatt Sorensen made the most plays with five.
Grantsville had 11 hits in the game. Kaiser Allen, Riley Smith, and Trevor Colson each collected multiple hits for Grantsville. Grantsville didn’t commit a single error in the field. Colson had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
