Bear River Bears Defeat Mountain Crest on a sunny chilly day at Bear Field!
Wyatt Roholt collected four hits in four at bats, as Bear River defeated Mountain Crest 13-1 on Tuesday. Roholt singled in the first, hit a grand slam in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fourth.
Bear River took control thanks to seven runs in the second inning. The Bears offense in the inning was led by Roholt, Kaygen Canfield, and Tyke Nessen, who all drove in runs.
Bear River got things moving in the first inning, when Jake Dahle homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Bear River scored seven runs in the second inning. The Bears offense in the inning came from a triple by Canfield, a single by Nessen, and a home run by Roholt.
Dahle was the winning pitcher for the Bears. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out seven and walking zero.
Bear River tallied 11 hits in the game. Roholt, Dahle, and Nessen each collected multiple hits for Bear River Bears. Roholt went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bears in hits. Bear River was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Makayden Kent had the most chances in the field with six.
The Bears take a break from region play when then travel to Salt Lake City on Thursday to play the Olympus Titans 3:30 at Olympus High School. Then will resume region play next Tuesday when the travel to Mountain Crest for game 2 of the series and finish the Mountain Crest Series on Wednesday at home.
