Bear River Bears Drop and extra inning Game To Weber After Late Score
Wednesday’s game against Weber was a heartbreaker for Bears, as they lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat. The game was tied at five with Weber batting in the top of the ninth when an error scored one run for Weber.
Bear River opened up an early lead in the first inning when Tyke Nessen grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bears tied things up at five when Braxton Jeppsen singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Parker Coombs started the game for Bear River. He went five and a third innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out two.
Jeppsen went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bears in hits.
Kaygen Canfield had a double and Wyatt Roholt added a triple for the Bears offense who came up just short in a hard fought game.
The Bears are in action again tomorrow at home when they host the Soaring Eagle from Juan Diego High School!
