Bear River defeated rival Logan High School Wednesday night in a pivotal Region 12 match-up that had a lot of play-off seeding implications attached to the out-come. With both team with identical region records of 5-3 and both teams tied for second place with Sky View, the winner would have a leg up for the number two or three seed.
Bear River got out to a nice start in the first quarter behind the junior Mark Huber and senior Wyatt Roholt doing most of the damage offensively. Huber had 7 first quarter points and Wyatt had two three’s for six points. The Bears led 15-11 after one. The four point lead held up during the second quarter and the Bears went into the locker-room still up four leading 25-21. Parker Coombs and Ren Fonnesbeck joined the scoring column during the second period. The second half belonged to the Bears as they out-scored Logan on their home floor by 7 in the half. Mark Huber led the Bears with 20 followed by Parker Coombs with 12 and seniors Kelton Summers and the Jet both added 9.
